Sean Donegan will be buried today in Gurteen. God rest his Soul. I’ve known him all my life and was sorry on Sunday last to learn of his death. Larger than life, he enjoyed life and brought a lot of colour to our parish at home. His pub, The Sailor’s Rest, was well frequented by locals and passers by alike.
When describing things and, for that matter people, he often summed all up with the single and definite word: “Class”. It was, in his hierarchy of praise, as good as it could get. To be put in the Class category was indeed full recognition.
God rest you Sean. Class!
