Vincent

My name is Vincent Sherlock. I was born in Moygara, Gurteen, Co. Sligo and am the youngest of three.

My parents, Bill and Mary, were the best I could have asked for and did all they ever could for me – for us all – and were proud of their place and people. Sadly they are no longer with us, my mother died in 2009 and my father in 2011,
but there’s not a day they don’t make themselves present to me in a memory or prayer. R.I.P.

I was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Achonry on June 14th, 1987 and have worked within the diocese since that time, apart from five years I spent with Galway Regional Marriage Tribunal. I have been in the parishes of Carracastle,
Collooney, Ballaghaaderreen, Kilmovee and, since August 2021, in Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo.

Technology and communication are among my interests – hence the blog I suppose – and I like to keep in contact with people insofar as I can. That has always been important to me.

Songs and stories are important to me too and I like to think this blog gives a platform to share some of the ones I’ve enjoyed and learned from through the years. I enjoy writing and have been lucky enough to be able to share
some thoughts in writing over the years. Some of those are found here too and some born here.

Thanks for calling to visit the blog – if it’s your first time, I hope you enjoy it and if you’re back again for another visit, you’re as welcome as you were the first day!

God bless you and keep in touch!

Vincent
