THE CROSS ON THE LOAF
A memory;
she would work hastily, faithfully
and with purpose ….
kneaded and needed
bread – the constant provider
not shop bought, from tradition taught
baked a-new, from her to you ….
take and receive, always believe
broken for you, given for you
shared, cared – nothing spared
blessed before the baking
ready for the breaking, the taking
nourishment for living – giving
