Edmond Molloy, R.I.P., was a native of Mullaghroe. He died some years ago in the United States and I came to know him through this blog!

Edmond sent me a lovely email many years ago. He told me that he had started following the blog and that he felt such a connection through it – a connection with home. He related with some of the stories, recognised some of the people and shared many of the memories.

He told me that he looked at the blog every day and was always happy when there was something new there.

His words encouraged me so much and I tried to keep something fresh in this space as regularly as I could. I woke up thinking about Edmond today and realise that I have let this space slip a little – not least because I started to use Facebook in Kilmovee Parish and am continuing to do so in Tubbercurry but there is a part of me that prefers this space and, thinking of Edmond today, I feel I want to make it a more regular part of life again.

Let me know what you enjoy here – if anything! Let me know what you might like to see here.

Above all, let us keep in touch.

Thanks Edmond, rest in peace and, in your name and memory, I will make a better effort.

  1. Father Vincent,
As you settle in your new home and community, it would be lovely for us to get to see and pray with you at various places in the parish. When you prayed at the old Abbey on the waterfront, it was indeed special. As were the different prayers at the cemeteries around your former parish. Thank you for taking the time to communicate in so many ways!

  2. Hello Fr. Vincent , Glad to see your blog. I hope you have settled into your new parish. You have a great way of relating stories that you have heard, to rate to all of us. I find thru your blog a connection to you and Ireland.
Stay safe and well and keep blogging.
    Marian
