Thursday after Ash Wednesday
The trace of the ashes has disappeared but hopefully its memory remains.
Being faithful to the Gospel and turning away from sin is at the heart of our earliest Lenten steps. It won’t happen in a day – maybe it doesn’t need to – we have forty days to make a difference in our own lives and the lives of others.
“Choose life”, the reading at today’s Mass tells us. A prayer then, for those who may be struggling with that very choice – from the baby in the womb to the face in the mirror.
Choose life.
