This little light
Behold, I stand at the door and knock ….
We had a Holy Hour in Kilkelly Church last night.
There’s something peaceful about an hour like this. We started off with a fair bit of natural light but as the hour passed, the day gave way to evening and the little candles on the Altar and the shaded spots shining on the back wall came into their own. They drew the attention towards Altar and, on that Altar, the Eucharist.
We reflected a bit on Holy Thursday and the journey towards and setting up of the “upper room”, that the Passover might be celebrated. Remembering Jesus’ words, the disciples walked and followed his directions and “made the preparations” for him.
LENTEN THOUGHT: Let daylight dim and evening darkness unfold, that thoughts and gaze may focus on the Altar – Eucharist and the ongoing need to “make preparations”. Our “little lights” may well come into their own …… they may even “shine”.
